Rhinocort Aqua Nasal Spray is a steroid medication used for treating nasal allergies and polyps.
Description
Rhinocort Aqua Nasal Spray (generic name: budesonide) is a drug used to treat the symptoms of hay fever and year-round rhinitis (nasal allergies) in patients aged six and older, as well as nasal polyps in patients aged 12 and older.
Budesonide is a member of the corticosteroid drug class and functions by decreasing inflammation (swelling) in the lining of the nose (rhinitis).
DosageThe dosage and treatment regimen is set by a doctor.
For the treatment of rhinitis:
12 years of age and above: The usual dose is either two sprays into each nostril once each day in the morning or one spray per nostril in the morning and evening.6 years to 11 years of age: The usual dose is one spray per nostril once daily in the morning. If symptoms don’t improve, a doctor may prescribe two sprays per nostril once each day in the morning.For treatment or prevention of nasal polyps, the usual dose is one spray into each nostril twice daily (morning and evening).
CautionIt is important to read and follow the instructions on the product leaflet before starting to using Rhinocort for the first time. Rhinocort is for use in the nose only and care should be taken to avoid applying the spray into the eyes and mouth.
Even if feeling better, don’t stop taking Rhinocort without consulting a doctor. If Rhinocort does not relieve the symptoms after three weeks of regular treatment, consult a doctor.
StorageKeep the protective cap on and store away from sunlight and moisture at room temperature (15-30°C/60-86°F). Keep the medication out of the reach of children as well as pets.
